{ happy 2011 }

so many wonderful things to look forward to this new year. our lucky 1.1.11. hello to a year full of special surprises yet to be opened and experienced. so many changes happened for the boys and i this last year. i can only look forward to the new chapter we are about to walk into.

it has been a breath of fresh air (literally) to stand underneath a blue filled sky for more than just an hour. but don't let the clear skies fool you for the second you step foot outside it feels like a giant life size freezer. burrrrrr. it will probably take me a few winters to get acquainted with what a real winter feels like. but i am up for the challenge.

a peak at some of my most recent wears. 

{ these jeffery campbell heels ( note: never worn ) were handed down to me by a friend. 

The first words that came out of my mouth after jumping up and down were,

 " they fit like a glove!" truly a cinderella moment for me. }

little black dress in shoe form. they go magically with anything and everything. }

{ i have been on the hunt for a great pair of nude/ beige shoes. jessica simpson could not

have pleased me more with these. i adore the extra width at the heel giving 

the shoe more character. }

todays outfit was inspired by all the pretty prints found in my wardrobe. well of course not all .. only the ones that caught my eye at first glance.. or maybe it was the tags still hanging off the clothing so delicately that made them more desirable " please wear me." i was going to attempt to take photos outside today but the weather wouldn't permit that due to a spell of hail.

The weather has been absolutely breathtaking this past week! Well that is up until about 1:00 pm where the gloom decides to roll back in and the air gets chilly. As long as I can wake up to the sun and bask in its beauty for a few hours I am happy. The weather tends to bring my clothes down a notch in the color department since I moved up here so I decided to fight it today and embrace my love for color! I know it isn't the most colorful of pallets but I enjoyed walking around town in a rainbow colored skirt. This place called Portland is certainly a big blob of grey. 

If there is any excuse to wear these shoes I am all for it. May not be the ideal shoe for this chilly weather.. but I am the one who consciously made the decision to wear them factoring in the idea that I might freeze my little toes off. I don't see many dry days so I take advantage of non rain boot shoe days. 

I am a spaz when it comes to anything with sparkle. So when I found this gold specked sweater I just about died. Got one in each color. (brown with gold specs, cream with silver specs) Can never go wrong with a thick knit sweater. In the near future I plan to add a little something of my own and change out the buttons to something fabulous!

Another love of mine- natural elements such a stone jewelry. Need to start adding to my collection since I just found this joy not to long ago. A girl can never have enough accessories. Whats an outfit with out the glam.

There is something so amazingly cozy and homey about Christmas. If I could I would keep everything up all year around. The smell of Christmas alone can put a smile on my face! Add in lights and sparkle..BAM!!! I am one happy little lady. I think this year we are going to up the Santa COOKIES. Anything to add a little extra joy to my lovely boys. I remember when Christmas would take an eternity to arrive.. now I find myself struggling to get all the Christmas shopping done in time. :]

Finally home and a bit more rested from my trip to California. Let me say traveling with kids is so not fun.. but I DID IT! It was so wonderful to get the chance to see family and friends some what during the holidays. Though it was hard saying good bye I am so happy to be home again.
